Opinion pieces live under this shelf’s label and are never mixed into news, guides or explainers. The house expectation is a spine: a claim, the evidence for it, and the strongest counter-argument stated fairly enough that its author would recognise it. A ranking is allowed to be personal — that is the point of the shelf — but a personal pick still owes you a reason.

Some of these pieces will age badly; that is the nature of opinion written in a moment. When one does, an update says so on the page rather than quietly rewriting the record, and every correction is logged at the corrections desk. If a piece got something wrong about you or your work, write to the desk — the same page that made the error carries the fix.
