Nothing on BRYME guarantees that a publication will accept your work, publish it, or pay you. An open submission window means only that submissions were open when BRYME last checked. Editors decline good work constantly, for reasons that have nothing to do with quality.

No earnings claims

BRYME does not promise that writing will earn you any particular amount, or any amount at all. Where a rate appears, it is the rate the publication itself published — not a prediction of what you will be paid, and not an average.

Pay figures are shown in the currency the publication states. Currency values move; a rate that looked one way in your currency last month may look different today.

Records go out of date

Every record carries the month it was last checked. Publications close, reopen, change rates and change rules without telling anyone. Always open the official guideline before you pitch. If you find something out of date, the Report an outdated listing link on each page goes straight to the desk.

Not professional advice

BRYME's guides are practical writing help, not legal, financial, immigration or tax advice. Where a guide explains the general structure of a formal document, that is a writing explainer only. For anything with legal or financial consequence, consult a qualified professional in your own country.

Never pay to submit

A legitimate publication does not ask a writer to pay a fee to be considered, or to hand over identity documents to be read. Some literary competitions charge an entry fee and say so openly — that is different from a market that asks for money to look at a pitch. If you are asked to pay to be considered, stop.
