How to find remote writing work
Legitimate remote and freelance writing opportunities you can do from anywhere.
Remote writing work spans two very different things: ongoing freelance contracts and one-off paid publications.
Separate jobs from gigs. A paid publication call is not a job offer and not a promise of payment; a remote freelance contract is ongoing work. BRYME keeps them apart.
Use legitimate marketplaces and the publication's own channel. For publication work, use the guideline. For freelance gigs, use reputable platforms — and read the terms carefully.
Check who is actually hiring. A real remote role names a client or an agency. Vague “we need writers” posts with no company need care.
Beware of unpaid trials. A limited, clearly-scoped paid trial is one thing; a long “test” you are expected to do for free is a red flag.
