About this tool
How to use the writing timer.
What it does. A distraction-free session timer with a default 25-minute goal you can change, built for timed writing sprints.
How to use it. Set a goal in minutes, press start, and write in whatever document you like until it stops. A sprint works best with one rule: forward only - no editing until the timer ends.
Why it matters. Pages are written by sessions, not moods. A timer converts a vague intention into a bounded, repeatable block - which is the habit the whole craft rests on.
Your data. The tool runs entirely in your browser - text you paste never leaves the page, and nothing is uploaded to a server.
Good to know
The timer keeps counting if you switch tabs, on purpose - the sprint is about time at the page, not words produced. Sessions of 15, 25 and 45 minutes all work; pick one and keep it boringly consistent.
Where this fits
Working-writer tools guard the commercial side of the craft: the rate, the invoice, the deadline, the agreement. The writing only pays if the paperwork holds, and these do the arithmetic and the tracking that busy weeks push aside - the ten minutes here that protect the invoice are never wasted.
