About this tool

How to use the pdf to text.

What it does. Extracts plain text from a PDF so you can copy, quote and edit it. Runs entirely in your browser - the file is never uploaded.

How to use it. Choose the PDF and the text appears in the box, ready to copy. Scanned pages without a text layer come out empty - that is a property of the file, not a failure; those need optical recognition instead.

Why it matters. Quotes, guidelines and contracts arrive as PDFs. Getting them into editable text is the first step of working with any of them accurately.

Your data. The tool runs entirely in your browser - text you paste never leaves the page, and nothing is uploaded to a server.

Good to know

Text comes out in the PDF's internal reading order - for two-column layouts that can interleave columns, so reflow the result before quoting line-by-line.

Where this fits

Working-writer tools guard the commercial side of the craft: the rate, the invoice, the deadline, the agreement. The writing only pays if the paperwork holds, and these do the arithmetic and the tracking that busy weeks push aside - the ten minutes here that protect the invoice are never wasted.
