How to use the sentence length checker.
What it does. Measures every sentence in your text and shows the lengths, so you can see the rhythm - or the monotony - directly.
How to use it. Paste a few paragraphs and look at the pattern of numbers. A run of similar lengths flattens the read; follow a long sentence with a short one and the page suddenly has pace.
Why it matters. Readers hear sentence length before they notice anything else about style. Seeing the numbers lets you compose rhythm on purpose instead of by accident.
Your data. The tool runs entirely in your browser - text you paste never leaves the page, and nothing is uploaded to a server.
Good to know
Aim for variety, not shortness - a 30-word sentence followed by a 6-word one lands harder than twenty medium sentences. The pattern of numbers is the signal; the average is almost meaningless.
Where this fits
Analysis tools put numbers where a writer's blind spots live: the sentence you always write, the word you lean on, the reading level you drifted into. The number is never the verdict - it is the pointer. Read each flag in its sentence, keep what is deliberate, fix what is not.
