About this tool

How to use the word repetition checker.

What it does. Finds your repeated content words - the ones a reader starts to notice by the third appearance.

How to use it. Paste a section and look past the obvious function words at the top of the list. When a distinctive noun or verb repeats within a few paragraphs, keep one instance and vary or cut the rest - distance alone usually fixes it.

Why it matters. Repetition is the tell of an unedited draft. Cutting echoes is the fastest single way to make prose feel professionally handled.

Your data. The tool runs entirely in your browser - text you paste never leaves the page, and nothing is uploaded to a server.

Good to know

Repetition across a gap of ten paragraphs is invisible to readers; repetition inside two is what they feel. Judge each repeat by its distance, not just its count.

Where this fits

Analysis tools put numbers where a writer's blind spots live: the sentence you always write, the word you lean on, the reading level you drifted into. The number is never the verdict - it is the pointer. Read each flag in its sentence, keep what is deliberate, fix what is not.
